Today’s grooms are taking a more active role in the planning of their weddings; the following is a list of items to remember when planning your event.

10: 12 Months Before the Wedding

• Pick out the engagement ring

• Announce your engagement to friends and family

• Discuss wedding plans and budgets with fiancée, parents, and other responsible parties

• Select your best man, groomsmen, and ushers

8: 9 Months Before

• Meet with your religious or other official to discuss the ceremony

• Begin to prepare your guest list

• Begin to make honeymoon travel plans
 

6 months Before

• Visit your local Savvi Formalwear store and register your wedding party

• Communicate with all groomsmen to get fitted for their tuxedos and place their orders

• Arrange for transportation to ceremony and reception for the entire wedding party

• Complete honeymoon plans
 

3 Months Before

• Complete your guest list

• Select and order wedding rings

• Plan rehearsal dinner

• Choose gifts for your wedding party

• Choose a gift for your bride
 

1 Month Before

• Make sure all have been measured for tuxedos and those out of town have returned their fitting cards

• File for your marriage license
 

2 Weeks Before

• Attend bachelor party

• Send new information to insurance carriers, banks, and other institutions 

The Week Before

• Pick up your tuxedo and try everything on to ensure a proper fit

• Pack for your honeymoon

• Enjoy your rehearsal and dinner afterwards

Your Wedding Day

• Double check all details, especially rings and license

• Arrive at the ceremony on time

• Enjoy!
